“Life is like a box of chocolates…” One of the most iconic lines in FORREST GUMP, first spoken on a simple bench that’s been sitting in a Los Angeles backyard for over 30 years. When the fires hit this past January and nearly everything around it was destroyed, the bench survived. “There’s no explanation,” said Rick Carter, the Oscar-winning production designer who brought FORREST GUMP to life. But like Forrest, maybe it was just waiting for the next person to sit down. | The Academy

@Mie 💕 on Instagram: "🖤 Fun Fact: Forrest Gump (1994) – Forrest & Jenny The bench scenes between Forrest and Jenny were filmed with minimal rehearsal so that Tom Hanks (Forrest) and Robin Wright (Jenny) could keep the emotions raw and unpolished. Director Robert Zemeckis wanted their relationship to feel unpredictable, reflecting how Jenny drifts in and out of Forrest’s life. This approach gave their moments together a natural tenderness that audiences deeply connected with."
