Good news, we have cooler temps in the forecast due to higher rain chances. Whenever we have shades of green and blue over us, atmospheric moisture levels are high enough for rain. The brown and yellow means low rain chances and higher temps. Labor Day will be mostly dry and hot. We're watching for the possibility of heavy rain late next week as an area of potentially tropical low pressure and a ton of tropical moisture moves our way. Stay tuned! abc13.com/forecast | ABC13 Meteorologist David Ti

The sea breeze will kick off slow moving, scattered heavy thunderstorms again Friday. Most of them will occur during the middle afternoon hours then die off after 6. Because they'll be moving slowly, an inch or two of rain could fall in a couple of places. And just like Thursday, there'll be many places in southeast Texas that won't get a drop. Especially well north and south of Houston. abc13.com/forecast | ABC13 Meteorologist David Tillman

You can use Futuretrack to time out the showers and storms Thursday through Friday. The one's that pop up Thursday afternoon will be the strongest with isolated damaging winds and street flooding possible. Unfortunately, the storms will be hitting about the time many of us are getting out of school and work. The lightning will be prolific so as the saying goes: "When thunder roars, go indoors". If you have to drive in it, watch out for ponding on area roadways and give yourself extra time to tra

Here's how the weather will evolve Wednesday through Thursday. A strong capping inversion will only allow scattered showers to develop On Wednesday. The strong storms will hold off until late Wednesday night. A squall line of storms may affect Houston around Thursday morning's rush hour. Strong straight line winds will be the main severe weather threat with those storms. The good news is, the storms will be east of us by lunchtime, and we should see a lot of sunshine Thursday afternoon. abc13.co

Use Futuretrack to plan your Veterans Day around the showers and storms. Your morning should be mostly dry then scattered showers and storms will form over us, mostly behind the afternoon cold front. Those showers and storms will last into the evening hours when many of us will be out enjoying high school football. In addition to an umbrella, grab a jacket. Temps will fall into the upper 50s by 9 p.m. abc13.com/forecast | ABC13 Meteorologist David Tillman

February 16th, 1998 (20 years ago) is a date most Sugar Land residents remember well. It was the date a strong tornado touched down and destroyed a portion of the Dillard's department store at First Colony Mall. It was a very scary time for those who saw the tornado. Here's some vintage ABC13 video clips from that day. The reporters in the video are Cynthia Hunt, Vicente Arenas, Chris Adams, and Liz Exon. If anybody has pictures, video, or memories of the day, please share. | ABC13 Meteorologist
