As 'Hamilton' celebrates its historic 10th anniversary, Lin-Manuel Miranda's hit musical has officially set its theatrical release date.

On Tuesday’s episode of “The Tonight Show,” Lin-Manuel Miranda revealed that the movie version of his Tony Award-winning musical “Hamilton” will come to theaters on Sept. 5. “I have an announcement!” Miranda declared during his “Tonight Show interview.

The deal continues Gibson’s long association with Lionsgate, where he made his two most recent films: his Oscar-nominated WWII drama Hacksaw Ridge, starring Andrew Garfield, and the thriller Flight Risk starring Mark Wahlberg. The studio is also the distributor for the Icon library including The Passion of the Christ.

Mel Gibson’s "The Resurrection of the Christ" will be released by Lionsgate in two parts, with Part One set for release March 26, 2027.

"Part One" will hit theaters on Good Friday, March 26, 2027 and Part Two will arrive on Ascension Day, May 6, 2027.
