On the afternoon of Jan. 6, officers responded to the area of 29th Street and Weir Avenue where a toddler appeared to have been shot, according to Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Jen Zak. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, according to Zak.

Toddler shot following possible domestic violence incident in South Phoenix: police
A toddler is expected to survive after being shot during a possible domestic violence incident at a South Phoenix townhome Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities are investigating after a teenager was shot and killed near last week's First Friday festivities in downtown Phoenix. The shooting took place on Friday, Jan. 2, at about 10:20 p.m. near Seventh and Garfield streets, according to Phoenix police, about a block south of where vendors had been set up for the city's monthly street fair.
The case was turned over to Phoenix police homicide detectives. Following a postmortem examination, the Office of the Medical Examiner ruled Hostetler’s death a homicide. No suspect information has been released, and the investigation is ongoing.

Brothers arrested following deadly North Phoenix shooting: PD
Besides the shooting suspect, Phoenix Police say they also arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly hindering prosecution.
Phoenix police are investigating the Dec. 22 death of Zachary Hostetler, 36, near 47th Street and Shea Boulevard.
