Following their 3-3 draw at Elland Road last month, Leeds have avoided defeat against Liverpool home and away in a Premier League season for the first time since they won both matches in 2000-01. Leeds are unbeaten against the reigning Premier League Champions (D2) in a season for the first time since 1994-95 against Manchester United (W1 D1).
Liverpool and Leeds United have a history of classic encounters, with their long-running rivalry established during the 1960s and 1970s. Both clubs were crowned champions on England under Bill Shankly and Don Revie respectively and clashes between the clubs are not to be missed.
Born in Liverpool and raised through the academy since Under-9 level, Norris impressed at youth level for the Reds and was handed his first-team debut in the infamous 5–0 defeat to Aston Villa in the 2018–19 Carabao Cup quarter-final, coming off the bench for a youthful Reds side deputing for the seniors while they were away at the Club World Cup.
