It was about this time four years ago that Francisco Lindor, then a newbie on the Mets, hit “rock bottom” in his season.
For the Mets, it was both Friday night. In a 4-2 win over the Rockies, Lindor homered from both sides of the plate, and Soto delivered just his second multihit game in three weeks. It was a night of exhaling for the Mets’ linchpins.
Francisco Lindor homered from both sides of the plate and made a leaping catch at shortstop that saved at least two runs, sending the New York Mets to a 4-2 victory Friday night over the woeful Colorado Rockies.
The Mets have won 25 straight games in which Lindor has homered, tied for the second-longest streak in MLB history. Only Carl Furillo of the Brooklyn Dodgers had a longer stretch (29), according to statistician Sarah Langs. Mixed in was Lindor’s great leaping, run-saving catch to end the top of the third.
