IOWA CITY — Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz could admit his first half blunder much more easily than he otherwise would have been able to following his team’s 25-24 win. The longtime Hawkeyes coach admitted,

Iowa quarterback Mark Gronowski rushed for a career-high 130 yards and two touchdowns, and Kaden Wetjen scored the go-ahead touchdown on an 8-yard run with 3:54 to play, as the Hawkeyes defeated Penn State 25-24 on Saturday night.

After initially being on the outside looking in to Penn State's coaching drama, the Iowa Hawkeyes stepped knee deep into the chaos by hosting the Nittany Lions

Gronowski ten clinched the win with a 14-yard run on third down that allowed the Hawkeyes to run out the clock.

The Nittany Lions had a road win in their possession before the Hawkeyes were able to snatch it away late. Now, a bye week awaits as they prepare for No. 1 Ohio State on Nov. 1

Iowa football kicker Drew Stevens set a new Hawkeyes program record with his 68th career field goal on Saturday against Penn State. Stevens is 68 for 86 during his Iowa career. He set a new Iowa record with a 32-yarder early in the fourth quarter, cutting Penn State's lead to 21-19.
