The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Friday afternoon in Kiowa, according to police. Authorities said the shooting happened just before 3:30 p.m. Jan. 30, 2026, after a Kiowa police officer conducted a traffic stop for speeding along State Highway 69.
Kyle Langlee UPDATE: A portion of Grand Avenue is closed on Wednesday morning following an officer-involved shooting that left one dead. According to officials, the closure is from 78th Avenue West to 83rd Avenue West as they continue to investigate.
On Thursday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a man, later identified as 62-year-old Jose Cabrera, was shot and killed by three of its officers following a domestic disturbance call in the Dinsmore area.
