Brosig, the 27th FAN Hall of Fame member, is the first posthumous selection. He was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in June 2024 and died Dec. 28 at age 80. He knew he was a hall of fame finalist and was pleased about that, said son Max Brosig.

Monday's Packers Fan Hall of Fame induction ceremony carried extra emotion behind it, as the newest inductee died before he could receive the honor.

The late John Brosig of Pound, Wis., was named the 27th member of the Green Bay Packers FAN Hall of Fame on Monday. Brosig was selected by fans from among 10 finalists during a voting period that ran from Jan. 1-31 on packers.com. More than 70,000 total votes were cast from throughout the United States and countries around the world.

Since 1998, the Packers have honored fans with the Packer Fan Hall of Fame. This year’s winner is being honored after his death from pancreatic cancer.
