The "No Kings" protests were scheduled in Connecticut as early as 9:30 a.m. in Canton and Glastonbury and could last elsewhere until 6 p.m.
According to protest organizers, the “No Kings” movement “is a direct response to Donald Trump’s self-aggrandizing $100 million military parade and birthday celebration, an event funded by taxpayers while millions are told there’s no money for Social Security, SNAP, Medicaid, or public schools.”
In Geneva, chants of “No kings in America” and “This is what democracy looks like” rang out over seemingly supportive, near-constant honks from cars driving by the large protest that stretched across several blocks of Randall Road.
