Roger Daltrey has some thoughts on the dizzying saga involving Zak Starkey. Speaking with The Times in an interview published on Friday, Aug. 1, The Who singer spoke about of Starkey's firing, rehiring and refiring with the classic rock band.

The Who's Roger Daltrey criticized ex-drummer Zak Starkey for comments he made after his outer, calling them 'kind of a character assassination.'

According to a report from The Who's Royal Albert Hall shows, the recently-knighted Daltrey had stopped several songs mid-performance, citing difficulty hearing the band over the drums. Per Starkey's recollection, the group played the rarely-performed "The Song is Over," and a lack of rehearsal meant that Daltrey "came in a bar early."
