PHOENIX — A Phoenix police officer shot a man carrying a gun on Saturday night, authorities said. Police responded to an unrelated call near 28th and Larkspur drives, north of Cactus Road, around 11:30 p.m. when the suspect began yelling at officers as they were getting back into their vehicles, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Four people were taken to hospitals after a shooting early Sunday morning near 1st Street and Washington Street in downtown Phoenix.
Phoenix police are investigating the Dec. 22 death of Zachary Hostetler, 36, near 47th Street and Shea Boulevard.
The case was turned over to Phoenix police homicide detectives. Following a postmortem examination, the Office of the Medical Examiner ruled Hostetler’s death a homicide. No suspect information has been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
