Semiconductor giant Nvidia (NVDA) has been hitting new market-cap milestones at an unprecedented pace. Last year, it joined the $1 trillion market cap club, while its valuation surpassed $2 trillion in February this year.

Nvidia (NVDA 0.28%) was the single best performing stock in the S&P 500 (\^GSPC 0.24%) in 2023, and it ranks as the fourth-best performing member of the index year to date in 2024.
