New York City is getting ready to ring in New Year's Eve 2026 with the ball drop countdown in Times Square Wednesday night. Temperatures when the clock strikes midnight will likely be the coldest in eight years, and some snow could be flying along with the confetti.

On Dec. 31, the Motown legend made a dazzling appearance on ABC ’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest broadcast — exactly 50 years after she topped the charts with her song “Theme From Mahogany (Do You Know Where You’re Going To).”

Seacrest celebrated his 21st year hosting the long-running NYE special on Wednesday at Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square.
