The Netherlands has made history by becoming the first NATO member to act under a new initiative to supply Ukraine with American-made weapons. On Monday, Dutch officials announced a €500 million package of US military equipment and confirmed they will send it to Ukraine.

"I am sincerely grateful to the Netherlands for their substantial contribution to strengthening Ukraine's air shield," President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote, saying this is "the first such step" among NATO countries.
