In a rare and bizarre occurrence, Australia batter Mitchell Marsh ruled himself out despite not edging the ball on the second day of the second day-night Test against India in Adelaide. Marsh went through a surprising brain fade moment as he assumed that he had edged one R Ashwin delivery and didn't even bother to review it and headed straight back to the pavilion.

Batting in the 64th over after Australia went past India's first-innings total of 180 earlier, Marsh prodded forward to Ashwin's fuller delivery and seemingly brushed his pad as the ball rushed past the outside-edge.
