Liverpool will not lodge a second bid for Alexander Isak after their initial offer of £120million was rejected by Newcastle. The Premier League champions were keen on landing the Swedish centre-forward despite splashing £69m on Hugo Ekitike, whom they beat Newcastle to the signing of last month.

Newcastle United have rejected an opening offer from Liverpool for striker Alexander Isak. The Magpies value the Sweden international at about £150m, with the Reds' offer falling below that figure. There has been no confirmation as to the level of Liverpool's bid.

Liverpool saw their reported £110 million bid for Newcastle ’s Alexander Isak refused this Friday, and seem unlikely to offer an improved bid. Though the offer is well below Newcastle’s £150 million valuation, ESPN report that the “nature” of the refusal suggests a renewed bid would be “pointless.”
