Warsofsky on Senators forward’s hit on Goodrow: ‘I didn’t like it’
Goodrow was on his first shift of Wednesday’s game against the Senators at SAP Center when he went after a loose puck in the Sharks’ end that Jan Rutta had rimmed around the boards. Senators forward Ridly Greig then caught Goodrow up high with a hit that sent the San Jose forward sprawling to the ice.

The San Jose Sharks announced Thursday that they have placed veteran forward Barclay Goodrow on injured reserve. The Sharks also announced they have recalled Ethan Cardwell from the Sharks’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the San Jose Barracuda.

Goodrow took three more shifts in the first period before he left the game. The Sharks announced at the start of the second period that Goodrow would not return. This season, Goodrow has two goals and 23 penalty minutes and was averaging 15:17 in ice time in 24 games before Wednesday.
