Anthony Volpe was not in the New York Yankees' lineup Saturday against the Boston Red Sox, a day after getting hit in the left elbow by Walker Buehler's pitch. The durable shortstop missed just his second game of the season.

Prior to Saturday's game with the Red Sox, Yankees manager Aaron Boone gave updates on a number of injured players including Anthony Volpe and why Jazz Chisholm Jr. isn't in the lineup.

After the Yankees won their first 2025 game against the Red Sox, one that Volpe contributed a two-run homer in the five-run first in addition to his painful second-inning ribbie, he met with reporters to give an update on his elbow, which was still very swollen.
