The Seattle Kraken goalie cleared waivers on Thursday and is expected to be assigned to the American Hockey League’s Coachella Valley Firebirds, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported.

The Seattle Kraken put goaltender Philipp Grubauer on waivers Wednesday with the purpose of sending him to the minors, and he would be assigned to the American Hockey League’s Coachella Valley Firebirds if he clears.

The Kraken will now turn to Joey Daccord, while if not claimed, Grubauer will get a chance to get out of his rut. Grubauer won the Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals in 2018.
