Former world snooker champion Terry Griffiths has died aged 77, the World Snooker Tour has confirmed. The Welshman won the 1979 world title, the Masters in 1980, reached third in the world rankings, and in 2007 was awarded an OBE for his services to snooker.

The Welshman, a frequent visitor to Hong Kong in the 1980-90s, won the world title in 1979 and completed the ‘Triple Crown’ in 1982.
