Sioux Falls Police are optimistic about the case involving the city’s latest homicide. Officers responded to a stabbing near 14th Street and South Duluth Avenue Saturday morning, in the central part of the city.

Another person was killed in Sioux Falls over the weekend, setting a record for the total number of homicides in the city within a year. The police department has identified the victim and provided additional details into this latest investigation at Monday’s police briefing.

Sioux Falls police are investigating the city’s 14th homicide of this year – a stabbing that took place early Saturday morning in a parking lot on South Duluth Avenue. That’s a record high number of homicides in one year.

Brandon Michael Bohlen, 34, was sentenced to 18 years in the state penitentiary for soliciting a 14-year-old girl for sex over Instagram, other avenues.
