The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled South Korean All-Star Hyeseong Kim on Saturday and placed second baseman Tommy Edman on the injured list.

Signed to a three-year, $12.5 million contract last winter, Kim was working on his swing in Triple-A. The promotion is likely to be temporary with Edman expected to return next Saturday.

When Kim enters a game, he'll be making his big-league debut. That milestone will occur roughly four months after he joined the Dodgers on a multi-year pact worth $12.5 million guaranteed. Kim had previously spent his professional career playing in the Korea Baseball Organization league.
