This news came as a shock to many. CD Projekt Red previously treated Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1 as its last major update — Updates 2.11 and 2.12 focused mostly on bug fixes and polishing — and the company’s Q1 2024 earnings report noted everyone on the development team had moved on to other projects as of April 30.

Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.1 update was released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in December. CD Projekt said it added “some of the most-requested features” to the game, including a metro system, portable radio player, repeatable car races, hangouts with romantic interests, and improved boss fights.

Seven months after announcing development of Cyberpunk 2077 had officially ended - and a little over a year since its last major 2.1 release - CD Projekt has revealed its open-world sci-fi RPG is getting more "cool stuff" in a suprise new update soon.

Around this time one year ago, CD Projekt Red gave us what was supposed to be the last major content update for Cyberpunk 2077, but it appears that that wasn't quite the case, as we're getting our first look at another new update tomorrow.
