US President Trump is gunning for a 25% tax on phones not made in the U.S., including iPhones and Samsung devices. Even though iPhones are designed in the U.S., they’re built in China, and that’s a major headache with the U.

His event in the Oval Office was at one point interrupted by repeated phone calls that he said were from members of Congress.

President Trump expanded his tariff threat to Samsung and other smartphone producers on Friday afternoon, after announcing threatened duties on Apple hours before. Trump earlier Friday posted on Truth Social that he would impose 25% tariffs on Apple iPhones made overseas.
