The Oklahoma Sooners continue to try and add to their roster via the transfer portal over the next couple of weeks, but on Thursday afternoon, they saw a former player find a new transfer portal home in the ACC.

The Oklahoma Sooners made waves last week before the opening of the transfer portal, firing former tight ends coach Joe Jon Finley. Fans had been clamoring for that move for years, and the Sooners finally caved and have decided to completely remake their tight end room.

Sam Bradford, Rod Shoate and K.J. Kindler will soon join other OU legends as members of the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame.

Former Central Oklahoma offensive lineman Kenneth Wermy will be returning to play for OU out of the portal. Wermy played for the Sooners in 2023 and 2024 before spending 2025 at the NCAA Division II level with the Bronchos. He'll add depth to an offensive line group that is in need of it after recent portal departures.

This year’s Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame class includes three University of Oklahoma players and coaches, a World Series champion, and a key figure in the creation of the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa.
