Roblox announced Monday it will roll out new age-based accounts for young users as the popular gaming platform continues to face criticism and lawsuits over the safety of children.

The gaming platform Roblox has agreed to implement a series of kids safety measures and pay the state of Nevada $12 million in a new settlement, Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford announced Wednesday.

The gaming app has come under scrutiny in recent months after public data revealed the platform flagged more than 13,000 attempts to exploit minors in 2023.
