A large-scale protest denouncing President Donald Trump will take place in downtown Chicago Saturday as part of a national day of action called "No Kings."

Thousands of demonstrators from the Champaign-Urbana area gathered outside the Champaign County Courthouse in response to a national call for protests against President Donald Trump on Saturday afternoon.

Several of the protests appeared to be family events, with lawn chairs, flags, dogs and kids. The Missouri National Guard were not reported at the rallies.

Another weekend of demonstrations against Trump won’t get the left anything.

Across the country, relatively few disruptions were reported during protests and marches where the mood ranged from joyful to defiant.
