A traffic stop was initiated but the car allegedly sped away from the scene. In the interest of public safety, police said they decided not the chase the car.
Fremont officers responded to the area of Fremont Boulevard and Delaware Drive and found a person down in the roadway. Emergency crews took the victim to a local hospital, where they later died. Police say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation as the Traffic Investigations Unit works the case.
