A freeze warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Tucson at 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8. This warning applies to Upper San Pedro River Valley, including Sierra Vista, Benson, Eastern Cochise below 5,000 feet, including Douglas, Willcox, Upper Gila River and Aravaipa Valleys, including Clifton and Safford.
ADOT also reports that the eastbound lanes of I-40 are closed at milepost 160 just west of Williams. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the closure was caused by two jackknifed semi-trucks. No injuries have been reported.

Snow moved into the high country early Jan. 8 and was expected to continue through the afternoon and evening. Flagstaff had picked up 2 to 4 inches, with snow reaching lower elevations, including Prescott and Sedona, according to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff.
