The New Orleans Pelicans are off to a 4-13 start as the team deals with a litany of injuries. Among those injured players is Zion Williamson who missed the season-opener then played in six out of eight games and hasn't been in the lineup since November 6th.

This season, Williamson is dealing with a hamstring injury and isn’t showing any signs of making a return. For these concerns and Zion’s injury history, MacMahon believes letting the two-time All-Star go is best for New Orleans when he joined Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective.

Williamson has undergone multiple treatments to his hamstring but is not close to a return, the outlet reported. He only played 29 games last year, triggering a clause in his contract that the remaining three seasons on his deal are now not guaranteed.

It is not immediately clear why Williamson and CAA are splitting, but the players’ association confirmed that CAA is no longer listed as his representative. The union does not have new representation for Williamson on record, but a player must wait 15 days after firing an agent before hiring new representation.
