Immigrant advocacy groups filed the lawsuit last week accusing the administration of systematically targeting brown-skinned people in Southern California during its ongoing immigration crackdown.

A federal judge on Friday found that the Department of Homeland Security has been making arrests in Los Angeles immigration raids without probable cause, ordering the department to stop detaining individuals based solely on race,

The Trump administration is suing California over its animal welfare laws, claiming they unconstitutionally raised egg prices.

The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against California, arguing the state's animal welfare law preempts federal law and are therefore illegal and have driven up egg prices.

The lawsuit said California's animal cruelty laws created "unnecessary red tape" in egg production, bringing up prices in the U.S.

Trump was also quick to criticize the Federal Emergency Management Agency's response to both disasters, and as president, he has said he wants to "wean off" FEMA and phase out the agency in an effort to shift more responsibility for recovery to states.

That praise, which Trump is likely to repeat during his visit to the flood-ravaged Texas Hill Country on Friday, is a far cry from Trump's harsh criticism of elected Democrats in California when wildfires devastated Los Angeles in January.
