An Arkansas State Trooper was fired after mistakenly ramming the wrong vehicle during a highway pursuit, an error that stemmed from confusing two dramatically different SUVs and ended with an innocent driver being struck by police.

Authorities say icy roads and drivers failing to move over for emergency vehicles were key factors in Thursday's collisions that temporarily shut down two interstates in Northeast Ohio.

A Colorado State Patrol trooper was injured early Wednesday morning while trying to catch a wrong-way, suspected drunken driver on Interstate 25, according to the agency.

According to CSP, the trooper was boxing in a suspected drunk driver for a traffic stop when he was struck by another driver near Pueblo.

The Honda fled the traffic stop and kept traveling northbound on I-25 and was then stopped by the Fountain Police Department. The driver, who was not injured, was identified as Jennifer Elaine Bliss from Denver. She will be facing charges for DUI, failing to yield and driving the wrong way, CSP said.

An Indiana State Police trooper was injured Wednesday while working a crash on Interstate 65 near 38th Street, according to the Indiana State Police. According to a post on X, ISP Sgt. John Perrine said Trooper Klingkammer was blocking a lane when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a suspected impaired driver on the northwest side of Indianapolis Jan.

State troopers are searching for a driver who may have traveled in the wrong direction for miles on I-25 Wednesday morning.
