The winter weather this weekend caused travel problems during the busiest time of year. On Sunday, more than 10,000 flights were delayed nationwide, according to the flight tracking website FlightAware. On Monday, the disruption was less severe, with less than 500 flights delayed in the U.S., according to the site.

A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Friday at 7:33 a.m. for snow showers until 8 a.m. for Northern Centre and Southern Centre as well as Clearfield County.

Northwestern New Jersey has the best chance at seeing up to 1 inch of snow by morning on New Year's Day, forecasters say.

A powerful winter storm system moving across the Great Lakes and Northeast is bringing snow and ice, frigid temperatures and possible whiteout conditions.

Authorities closed State Route 2 between Cedar Springs, 3.3 miles east of Newcomb’s Ranch, and State Route 138 on Christmas Eve, according to the California Department of Transportation.

Forecasters are warning of even more frigid weather in the Midwest after a winter storm pummeled parts of that region as well as the Great Lakes and the Northeast this week.
