Microsoft was hoping to release Recall in October but ended up pushing the rerelease to December. The company beat its own deadline, but Recall is where it belongs right now: In the Insiders program, with developers and other enthusiasts who are willing to put the AI tool through its paces.

Microsoft is releasing the first preview of its Recall AI feature for Copilot Plus PCs today. After a series of delays, Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel can now install a new build of Windows 11 that includes Recall and Click to Do — a feature that’s very similar to Google’s Circle to Search.

Both these AI features will also be available on Intel and AMD processor-powered PCs eligible for Copilot Plus PC experience

Concerns raised by cybersecurity experts had forced the tech giant to pause the rollout and refine the Recall feature.
