Khalid maintained it's no one's business how he identifies but confirmed he is part of the LGBTQ+ community — and that he was "never hiding."

Khalid came out as gay after being outed by an X user. The R&B singer said he is 'not ashamed' about his sexuality, and he's 'okay' with who he is.

"I got outted [sic] and the world still continues to turn," wrote Khalid. "Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me 🖤 love yall." PEOPLE reached out to a rep for Khalid for comment.

Yesterday (November 22), Khalid was forcibly outed by his alleged ex-partner on X (formerly Twitter). Aspiring singer Hugo D Almonte accused Khalid of spreading rumors about him in a series of deleted posts (viewable here ).

The Grammy-nominated singer responded after rapper Hugo Almonte levied all sorts of accusations against him on social media.

Singer Khalid has come out as gay, saying he made the decision to publicly reveal his sexuality after being outed. The seven-time Grammy nominee, 26, shared a series of posts on X Friday night, in which the hitmaker said he was neither “ashamed” of being gay or “hiding anything” while noting that his sexuality is “nobodies [sic] business.”

The singer/songwriter may have been outed without his consent, but has been able to claim power as he publicly acknowledged his sexuality for the first time.

The Grammy nominee, 26, posted a rainbow flag emoji and short statement, then added in another post that he had been "outted."

Khalid’s statements came on the heels of since-deleted tweets from a user identified as Hugo Almonte, who was posting about gay artists he claims to have slept with.
