A winter weather advisory is in effect for the following Kentucky and Indiana counties from 7 p.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday: Oldham, Trimble, Henry, Harrison, Nicholas. Clark, Orange, Washington, Scott, Jefferson, Dubois, Crawford, Harrison, Floyd.

While Virginia and North Carolina were grappling with a snowstorm, an Arctic blast brought dangerously low temperatures to a vast swath of the U.S.

Substantial snow has fallen across portions of Virginia, including in Virginia Beach which picked up nearly 11 inches during the storm on Wednesday. FOX Weather Meteorologist Ian Oliver was in Virginia Beach on Thursday morning where sand and palm trees have been covered in snow.
