A fourth-quarter fumble was the turning point for No. 7 Georgia in a 44-42 battle with rival Georgia Tech that spanned eight overtimes (the second-most in college football history) and was a 17-0 game in favor of the Yellow Jackets at halftime.

Georgia turned what looked like a Friday night massacre by Georgia Tech into a miraculous Bulldog comeback win, 44-42, in eight overtimes. The Bulldogs pulled out the victory after overcoming 20-6 and 27-13 fourth quarter deficits and pulled it out when freshman Nate Frazier ran up the middle for the mandated two-point conversion.

Georgia freshman Nate Frazier ran 3 yards for a two-point conversion in the eighth overtime period, leading the No. 7 Bulldogs to a wild 44-42 victory over rival Georgia Tech in the longest game in SEC history at Sanford Stadium on Friday night.

In overtime eight, Georgia Tech’s pass was incomplete out of the back of the end zone. The overtime record is nine when Illinois defeated Penn State. Georgia and Georgia Tech each scored in the first overtime to move the score to 34.-34. They each scored in the second overtime but both schools failed on two-point conversion.

Nate Frazier ran for a 2-point conversion in the eighth overtime of a marathon for the ages after No. 6 Georgia pulled off an improbable fourth-quarter comeback, giving the Bulldogs a 44-42 victory over Georgia Tech on Friday night.
