The Senate on Monday confirmed Linda McMahon as the next Department of Education leader, paving the way for President Donald Trump to act on his public calls to dismantle the agency. The vote to confirm McMahon as Secretary of Education — the wife of World Wrestling Entertainment mogul Vince McMahon — was 51-45.

Linda McMahon, a major Republican donor and a former pro-wrestling executive, was confirmed Monday to serve as President Donald Trump’s secretary of the Department of Education.
