Private equity billionaire David Bonderman, who co-founded the asset management firm TPG and was the co-owner of the NHL's Seattle Kraken, died Wednesday at the age of 82.

Bonderman, who got his start as a lawyer, also owned the Seattle Kraken NHL team. A look back at the early leveraged buyouts of tech companies that his firm TPG pursued.

In 2018, he led the effort to bring NHL hockey to Seattle, founding the Kraken and overseeing the construction of the state-of-the-art Climate Pledge Arena.
