A blast of arctic air over the eastern U.S. will bring wintry weather to parts of Florida through the weekend into next week, forecasters said.

On Friday, a cold front is moving southward across Central Florida. Cloud cover will keep temperatures in the 60s near Interstate 4, according to NWS Melbourne. Further south, there will be sunshine and temperatures in the 70s. Light showers from Melbourne to Kissimmee are possible, according to NWS Melbourne.

A cold front will sweep through the area on Friday, bringing plenty of clouds, a few showers and cooler temperatures. Rain chances will be around 10% to 20%, and most will stay dry. Highs will only climb into the upper 60s.

Central Florida had a slight break in the cold Thursday, but temperatures are dropping again overnight and through the weekend. A cold front cut across the region Friday, and the effects will be felt at night as temperatures fall into the 30s and 40s heading into Saturday morning.
