That's a lot for a patch for a narratively-driven RPG, but that's becoming Larian's M.O. Patch 7 introduced mod support on consoles and thirteen new endings, so it's natural for the developers to keep expanding the game.

Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios recently suggested it was "not quite done" with the acclaimed RPG, and it's proven today that it wasn't joking around. We've known for a while now that Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 wouldn't be the game's final update,

Larian has said it won’t add any major story content updates or DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3. But with these patches including the recent addition of official mod support, the developers have left the game in the best place for the community to continue the adventure without them. Patch 8 is scheduled to release next year.
