In a Thursday meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, President Donald Trump said he’s “in no rush” to reach trade deals with foreign nations. Meloni met with Trump as Italy’s premier.But she has effectively been “knighted” to represent the European Union after the Republican president placed 10% tariffs on imports from the EU.

U.S. President Donald Trump has agreed to an official visit to Rome and will consider also meeting representatives of the European Union while there, Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Thursday in the Oval Office.

"There will be a trade deal 100%," Trump said ahead of a luncheon at the White House with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. "I fully expect it."
