Samsung has officially launched its One UI 8 beta program, and you can sign up to be among the first to test it out -- if you have a compatible device.
Samsung's One UI 8 beta is here. After playing with it for a day, I've found a few features I truly love — plus one thing I hate.
The One UI 8 beta also features some major improvements to the Secure folder, including a much-needed Kill Switch. The folder will also behave more like Android’s Private Space features, meaning you can store apps in the folder without a copy being kept on the rest of your phone.
Samsung's One UI 8 beta program is now open for users on Galaxy S25 devices. The new beta brings Android 16 to Samsung devices for the first time, along with improvements to Samsung features like the Now Bar and Secure Folder.

After One UI 7 suffered a bunch of serious delays, it's nice to see that One UI 8 seems to be back to a normal schedule. And now that the first beta version of the upgrade is rolling out, we're learning about all the extra features Samsung has added — including some key upgrades for the Secure Folder.
While One UI 7 has only just recently been pushed out to the masses by Samsung, it looks as though One UI 8 will be following it very shortly – and the software upgrade could well come with a new Running Coach feature included.
As previously rumored, our One UI 8 beta tests have found that the Now Bar will now display calls and Do Not Disturb status.
